And let me tell you guys….this one is pretty special!

I was invited to this #blogtour by the wonderful, Rachel (Rachel’s Random Resources) and a big thanks has to go to her and the wonderful author, who created this ‘gem’ of a story, SarahJane Ford (www.sarahjaneford.com)

If I could choose 5 words to describe this book; they would be beautiful, charming, emotional, heart-wrenching and tragic.

I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster with this story and held on tight as I was thrust from moments of humour to moments of despair. I felt the pain that Alice felt; I shared her feelings of loss as her body started to betray her; and I recognised the love she felt for Alex.

About the Author

SarahJane is the debut author of ‘I Give You My Heart’ which is due to be published on September 1st 2018.

SarahJane was born in Scotland but grew up in the Cheshire countryside, which is home to her. After a few years living in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, where she went to secondary school, she has now settled back in Cheshire in a quirky flat surrounded by trees, birds and rolling fields.

A marketing professional since finishing her formal education, SarahJane is delighted to be following her writing dream. She still works part-time as a Marketing Manager, whilst furiously penning her second novel.

Harbouring an adventurous spirit, SarahJane loves to travel, be surrounded by the wilderness or be riding Cornish waves.

SarahJane loves to read (ideally by the sea!). She was raised on the greatest love stories, which is where her romantic soul comes from. My Review

Let me start by saying that I LOVE ALICE! She is gutsy, adorable and honourable. Eventhough she is facing death with her incurable illness, she still looks at helping others and ensuring her partner is okay after her passing. This book was wonderfully written, it was honest and open with a funny energy running through it. Although the story was around about a sensitive subject, the writer had a enchanting way of bringing humour to the pages at the same time. It wasn’t all doom and gloom; and that is what made it a much easier story to believe. There were some difficult parts to read and I didn’t come away from this without tears! In fact, I had a shed-load towards the end. Sat in my doctors receptions reading the final pages was almost too difficult, but I managed to hide my glistening eyes from the others around me.

SarahJane has done a brilliant job at bringing a story to life; one that had me loving the characters wholeheartedly! I loved the dialogue between the Alice and Ryan! Some of the scenes between them were both hilarious and adorable to see. It is evident that they share a very real friendship and I could relate to how they connected.

I enjoyed reading about the romance between Alex and Alice; it was gushy in parts and had me wanting to roll my eyes, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a fan of a good romantic read. I was heartbroken that they didn’t get a happier ending, but delighted with how this concluded, even if I did have tear stained cheeks at the same time! 😀

Conclusion

If you are looking for a romance with a difference, something that will get you 100% in the gut! Then take this book on! It is beautifully written and very raw at times, but it is an enjoyable read! Just have the tissues ready!
