Blogtour – Tuesday 18th February
Hello, Hello, Hello.
Thanks for stopping by. I am here again with another fantastic book that I know you will all love. I have had the honour of reading Hannah’s work before now. This amazing writer floored me with The Afterlife of Walter Augustus. And it was no surprise when this was awarded Winner of 2018 Kindle Storyteller Award Book. – A copy of my review from that book can be found here
I jumped at the chance to read more of this authors work and the title alone intrigued me. And yet, it isn’t what most would be expecting. This is a hilarious account of parenthood, and the mundane life that can sometimes weigh us down. The characters bounced off of each perfectly, and I chuckled my way through many of the pages. It really takes a good writer to produce ‘cringe-free’ humour, and Hannah manages it perfectly.
The writing styled flowed wonderfully, and I got stuck into this book straight away.
Before I tell you more of my thoughts on this book, lets see a little bit about the author. 😀
About the Author
Hannah Lynn is an award-winning novelist. Publishing her first book, Amendments – a dark, dystopian speculative fiction novel, in 2015, she has since gone on to write the multi award winning The Afterlife of Walter Augustus – a contemporary fiction novel with a supernatural twist, Fiona and the Whale – a thought provoking romantic comedy and the delightfully funny and poignant Peas and Carrots series.
While she freely moves between genres, her novels are recognisable for their character driven stories and wonderfully vivid description.
She is currently working on a YA Vampire series and a reimaging of a classic Greek myth.
Born in 1984, Hannah grew up in the Cotswolds, UK. After graduating from university, she has spent twelve years as a teacher of physics, first in the UK and then around Asia and Europe. It was during this time, inspired by the imaginations of the young people she taught, she began writing short stories for children, and later adult fiction. Now as a teacher, writer, wife and mother, she is currently living in the Jordan.

About the Book
Erotic Fiction?
There’s nothing sexy about her humdrum life as a mum. But is her husband’s
crazy scheme a bit too exciting?
Sarah’s mind-numbing housewife existence is turning her brain to mush. With her
third bun in the oven, this British mum is drowning under a mountain of playdates,
bills, and head lice checks. But her man’s get-rich-quick idea of writing steamy
novels isn’t her ideal way to dial up life’s passion.
Drew desperately wants a break from Sarah’s whinging. And if that means
researching how to write racy books all by himself, then he’ll make the sacrifice. But
as he finally warms Sarah up to the sultry side hustle, their R-rated private project
gets publicly exposed…
With an office scandal brewing, it’s only a matter of time before gawking workers
and a perfectly nosy PTA president turn them into social pariahs.
Can Sarah and Drew earn some extra income from sizzling lit without falling prey to
stiff gossip?
Erotic Fiction is a charming comedy for fans of humorous fiction. If you like sweet
love stories, endearing characters, and dry British humor, then you’ll adore Kindle
Storyteller Award Winner Hannah Lynn’s delightful tale.

My Review
Hannah Lynn is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. From following her on social media, to reading her books; I find myself aspiring to have the career that she is carving for herself. Every book that I have read of hers is different from the last, but what remains the same is how wonderfully they are written. The characters are rich, diverse and interesting. I read greedily with each new character that I am introduced to, wanting to find out as much as I can.
This book was a million miles away from the touching, heart-warming story of Walter Augustus.
This story touched me in other ways. Sure, it is funny and had me laughing with each turn of the page, but it also talked to me as a parent. The truthful struggles us parents face was honestly written, and I found myself connecting with the characters as the story progressed. The story kept me entertained from the very first page, and I enjoyed the journey. I was very quickly absorbed in the pages, and found myself forgetting where I was at times. And I am not too embarrassed to say that I laughed out loud once too often in public.
I loved Sarah, she spoke to me as both a parent, pregnant lady and a wife. Some of the scenes are so funny, and I found myself smiling and laughing a lot! It is always difficult for me to write a review without spiling all the ‘good stuff’, but belive me….this book is a fab read! Light hearted, romantic, funny….it was one that I will be 100% recommending.
Hannah Lynn has done a fantastic job as always! The only thing I could ask for is more stories including Sarah and Drew….they were amazing. Please say that this wont be the last that we hear from them. A sequel would be fantastic!
But for now, I will safe in the knowledge that this isn’t the last that we have heard from this author who is quickly finding her feet, and creating stories that capture her readers. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.
Conclusion
Fantastic book! Brilliantly written! A story with energy, which will make your cheeks hurt from all of the laughing! Check it out! You wont regret it.
